Key Information – Operation Seltern
The attached table provides an outline of the intention of the incremental expansion and how this would appear in terms of a divisional breakdown.
The table provides a monthly figure for drug-wipe use, commencing in late October 2025 with an operational evaluation in late March 2026.
It is anticipated with activity at the levels highlighted in the table, that the budget allocation will be close to completion by the end of March 2026.
The rationale for the projections allows an initial detection rate of 50% which was the position when Road Policing Officers commenced the use of drug-wipes in 2019.
The average drug wipe use of three per officer, per month is based around Road Policing officer use. Additional drug-wipes will be provided to UC and AP subdivisions and made available if officers exhaust the use of their initial allocation.
Road Policing Management Support will provide support and assistance in terms of governance and administration.
