Recent inspections
In June 2025, HMICS carried out an inspection of custody centres located within Highland & Islands Division and in September 2025 there was an inspection of the St Leonard’s custody centre located in Edinburgh City Division.
The formal inspection report, recommendations and areas for improvement from these inspections have still to be issued.
