Forensic Services has welcomed the support of a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in development of this RDI Strategy.

We held a series of internal workshop sessions, looking to channel the passion of people in healthy discussion on the direction of RDI within our organisation and across the UK.

We sought the strategic input from colleagues in the Forensic Services Leadership Team in considering where our biggest challenges are and where we should be focusing our energies to provide best value and deliver maximum improvement.

In May, we hosted our RDI knowledge exchange event, which was attended by a wide range of stakeholders, as referenced above. Fiona Douglas, Director of Forensic Services opened the event with Assistant Chief Constable Steven Johnson and Professor Niamh NicDaeid as keynote speakers.  Topics covered included “Future Landscape for Policing & Safer Communities – challenges and opportunities” and “Innovation in Forensic Science – an international perspective”.

The outputs of our stakeholder engagement directly informed the content of our RDI strategy.
