Project Updates - Operating Model
We remain committed to implementation of our new operating model, as far as possible within financial constraints, seeking to minimise impact to our people as far as possible whilst maintaining service delivery.
- Phase 4 of our operating model implementation will see continued focus on communication of results to partners along with the wider integration of drugs casework in the context of our new capability structure. Intelligence reporting of DNA results is now established at our Dundee site and being rolled out to our Glasgow site in the coming weeks. This aims to provide partners with an early indication of DNA results for non-complex casework to maximise early impact on the investigation process.
- Building on the successful implementation of our electronic transmission of digital fingerprint images from our search & recovery lab teams, planning is now underway to develop our capacity for electronic transmission of digital fingerprint images directly from crime scenes.
- We continue to undertake our delivery effectiveness reviews for key milestone activity delivered in previous phases of our operating model implementation. Recently completed reviews have covered the introduction of our new Capability Team Manager and Forensic Support Officer roles along with the transition of footwear intelligence reporting to our Tenprint / Livescan team. The reports and accompanying recommendations have been submitted to our Operating Model Project Board for consideration 22 July 2025. Key themes and progress against recommendations will be covered in future Change Programme updates for the Committee.
