Programme Delivery Headlines
- Long Term Sustainable Model Criminal Toxicology: Significant progress has been made within the project team around defining work packages and allocation of workstream owners however resource prioritisation discussions are ongoing with Police Scotland colleagues. Once discussions are concluded we will then be able to finalise the project plan and associated timelines for delivery of the full business case (FBC).
- Operating Model: Phase 4 of our Operating Model implementation commenced in April 2025 and due to complete March 2026. This phase is focused on consolidation, with both our people and partners, of changes already implemented and will also plan for project closure and transition to business as usual. The op model remains on track to deliver against the programme plan (See Appendix A).
- FS COS & Data Migration: This project is now tracking red against the delivery timeline in the programme plan. Following further consultation with Police Scotland procurement and digital division consultation a revised approach to procurement has been agreed. The revised approach has significantly impacted the original timeline and our ability to confirm the financial ask within the required timeframes, however we are confident that the revised approach leaves us best placed to secure the quality of product Forensic Services requires if we are to respond to current & future fluctuations in demand. The revised timeline for FBC delivery was presented to the Forensic Services Change Programme Board on 14 July and is included within this report at Appendix B for consideration by the Committee.
