Background and development of the process
In line with the Estates Strategy and the Scottish Government’s 2022 spending review, the Scottish Police Authority (SPA) approved the National Estates Programme in September 2023. This initiative aims to consolidate and modernise the police estate by closing and disposing of outdated, costly properties, and relocating to more efficient, fit-for-purpose premises. The main objectives are to achieve long-term financial sustainability and improve facilities and working environments for officers and staff.
