UKAS Accreditation

Accreditation is based on the organisation and laboratories demonstrating compliance against each of the eight clauses of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (ISO 17025). Audits will be conducted to determine compliance across both technical and non-technical activities including Quality Management, Quality Assurance and Technical Assurance. Ongoing audits will be carried out as part of the lifetime management of maintaining ISO 17025 Accreditation.

UKAS applications are valid for two years, should no progress be made within that time frame, the application fee will be re-chargeable. The existing UKAS application is due to expire in April 2026. There would be little value in re-applying until funding for Technical Resources can be identified due to the critical activities their role shall provide.
