Roll Out Plan 2025/2027
A steady state tracker has been created by the Quality Assurance team to track progress and compliance against the clauses of ISO 17025 for each of the five laboratories including the Quality Assurance activities. This tracker currently contains 133 measurables upon which current progress is assessed. The number of measurables may increase as additional tasks are identified which may affect the current performance data.
The steady state tracker will provide data which will be used to coordinate and effectively schedule audits towards the laboratories who have achieved true steady state.
A visit to the Inverness laboratory was completed in June and demonstrated a compliance level of 60% across the 133 measurables.
Glasgow is currently sitting at a compliance level of 31% and further visits are being arranged for Aberdeen, Dundee and work is ongoing with Edinburgh.
Once the new Technical Assurance team are recruited then technical activities supporting steady state can commence.
The project completed a Lessons Learned workshop in September 2024 and the next Lessons Learned workshop is due to be completed between November 2026 and April 2027 dependant on when accreditation is awarded to the Aberdeen Lab. This activity will ensure best practice across all labs following UKAS assessment.
A review of project scope will also be carried out following the successful accreditation of the first Digital Forensic Laboratory.
