FURTHER INFORMATION
Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPAS) hubs are now fully operational in Dundee, Edinburgh, and Glasgow, providing coverage across all three command areas. Development is being prioritised in the West Hub to provide a more responsive service to local policing. This includes moving primarily from pre-planned operations to responsive model, supported by increased capacity through the training of air observers as RPAS pilots.
In March 2025 a further three officers qualified as RPAS operators bringing total to fourteen.
