The Scottish Police Authority has taken the decision to suspend a senior Police Scotland officer.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Police Authority said: “The Authority’s Complaints and Conduct Committee has taken the decision to suspend a senior police officer following receipt of conduct allegations which have been referred to the Police Investigations and Reviews Commissioner for consideration.”
Background:
- The Police Service of Scotland (Senior Officers) (Conduct) Regulations 2013 explain the arrangements for conduct considerations raised against serving senior officers.
- The Authority is required under the regulations above to refer any allegations it requires investigated to the PIRC. It is for the PIRC to consider and determine whether to investigate.
- In line with the regulations above, the officer’s suspension is effective from Monday 8 December 2025 and will be reviewed at 4-weekly intervals or until such time as circumstances change.
- In the interests of confidentiality, the Authority will not comment further at this stage.
