A two-year pay deal for police staff in Scotland has been agreed. The deal covers 2025-2027.

The agreement will see staff receive a 4% pay increase from April 2025 to March 2026, followed by a further 3.5% increase from April 2026 to March 2027. The same uplift applies to a range of allowances.

Staff will also see an increase to on call allowance to £36.40 from April 2025, then to £43.68 in April 2026. Maternity and adoption pay will increase to 26 weeks full pay in April 2026.

The pay deal includes a commitment to the pay award remaining at least one percentage point above the average Consumer Price Index​ rate each year and safeguards earnings against the rising cost of living.

Fiona McQueen, Chair of the Scottish Police Authority said: “I am delighted we have now agreed a multi-year pay deal for staff which mirrors the offer accepted by police officers. This pay award recognises the essential role staff play across policing and offers a degree of financial stability over the next two years.

“I am grateful to everyone involved, particularly the Trade Unions, for their constructive dialogue in reaching this agreement.”

Chief Constable Jo Farrell said: "I want to thank police staff for the hard work and skill they demonstrate every day to deliver for our communities.

"I'm grateful to​ the Trade Unions and everyone involved in reaching this agreement."

The pay award for staff aligns with the recent pay agreement for officers.

Staff can expect back dated pay in the October pay run and officers can expect theirs in September.

Police Scotland and the Scottish Police Authority remain committed to no compulsory redundancies.
