Three serving Police Scotland officers, including the Chief Constable Jo Farrell, have been recognised in the New Year Honours list alongside a retired ACC and the Authority's former Chief Executive Lynn Brown.
Chief Constable Jo Farrell, Chief Superintendent Stevie Dolan, and retired ACC Andy Freeburn have all received the King’s Police Medal (KPM) for their significant contribution to policing.
Yocksan Bell, a constable serving in E Division has received an MBE for services to Young People and Missing Persons.
Lynn Brown, the Scottish Police Authority's former Chief Executive who retired in September 2025 has also been awarded a CBE for services to policing and public service.
The Scottish Police Authority's Chair, Fiona McQueen has responded to the news saying:
“I am delighted to congratulate Chief Constable Jo Farrell, Chief Superintendent Stevie Dolan, and retired Assistant Chief Constable Andy Freeburn on their King’s Police Medals. I also warmly welcome the award of a CBE to the Authority’s former Chief Executive, Lynn Brown, in recognition of her significant contribution to policing, and the award of an MBE to Constable Yocksan Bell, for his services to young people and missing persons.
“These honours rightly recognise exceptional leadership, outstanding service and a deep commitment to policing and keeping people safe.”

This recognition reflects not individual effort alone, but the collective contribution of the many colleagues I have had the privilege to work with over many years, including at the Scottish Police Authority. I am deeply grateful to them and proud to have served alongside such dedicated public servants.”
