Response

The Scottish Police Authority has considered your request under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act (FOISA).

The Authority does not hold information regarding the Learning Review related to this specific case. By means of explanation, the Authority’s role is to provide strategic governance and oversight of policing in Scotland. The Authority does not oversee specific instances of operational policing or the investigation of individual cases.

To assist, we can point to reference to the conviction of the individuals in the Family C case to the meeting of the Authority in February 2025. This is linked below.

We also note that the Chief Constable reported verbally to the Authority in November 2025 regarding Police Scotland’s response to child sexual exploitation. Although not specific to the Family C case this covers a broader update in this area.

Information regarding Police Scotland’s investigation of this case and Learning Review may be available by contacting Police Scotland at foi@scotland.police.uk
