I am submitting a Freedom of Information request regarding the service and maintenance history of a 2020 BMW 530d touring (registration SF71 BHL), formerly a marked traffic vehicle operated in Scotland. The vehicle is currently for sale with approximately 106,713 miles.

1. Maintenance/Service Recording

Please advise:

• What system or database is used to record service and maintenance history for Scottish traffic vehicles.
• How long these records are retained.

2. Vehicle‑specific service and maintenance history  (BMW 530D Touring - SF71 BHL)

For the above BMW 530d, please provide any available entries showing date and mileage at the time of service or repair for the following items:

• Battery: any replacements or charging‑system repairs.
• Cooling system: coolant flushes or component replacements.
• Decommissioning and disposal: date the vehicle was removed from service, date of decommission  and date of sale.
• EGR system: any repairs or component replacements.
• Gearbox: last service, including whether the filter was replaced.
• MOT history: all available MOT records, including any failures or advisories prior to the test dated 30/07/25 (91,292 miles).
• Structural repairs: any body or chassis work carried out.
• Tyres: last replacement dates and mileage.
