Your request for information dated 06 July 2026 is copied below.
Under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, I request information on the number of police officers and Police Scotland and SPA staff listed on ViSOR, the Violent and Sex Offender Register and other related registers.
1. I would like to know how many current officers are:
a. listed on ViSOR?
b. Are subject to MAPPA management?
c. Subject to Sex Offender Notification Requirements?
2. How many current Police Scotland and SPA staff are:
a. listed on ViSOR?
b. Are subject to MAPPA management?
c. Subject to Sex Offender Notification Requirements?
3. Between 1 January 2012 and as close to the present day as possible, how many serving Police Scotland officers or police or SPA staff were:
a. Recorded on ViSOR;
b. Subject to MAPPA management;
c. Subject to Sex Offender Notification Requirements;
d. Suspended, restricted, or dismissed as a consequence.
If officers and staff who resigned before conviction, or before being placed on the above lists, are not included the in tally above, is it possible to find out how many former officers and staff appear on the above lists, in relation to allegations committed while they were employed by Police Scotland?
