Further Reports Provided to SPA on Legacy SCDEA Matters
At the Scottish Police Authority's (SPA) Board meeting held in November, Members were briefed by the Chief Constable on the independent peer review undertaken by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) into Police Scotland Anti-Corruption Unit’s investigation of legacy issues in the SCDEA Special Operations Unit (SOU).
Livestream 27 November:
The Chief Constable has acted on the Authority's request for a further report to be submitted which more fully captures the issues considered and the conclusions reached. A revised paper has also been provided setting out the range of oversight bodies that, across the UK, play a pivotal role in providing checks and balances over covert policing activities.
These two reports are published today (20 December 2019) on the SPA website as supplementary information to the November Board agenda pages.
