The Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs, Angela Constance MSP, has announced the appointment of Amina Khan as a Member of the Scottish Police Authority.
The appointment is for four years from 2 February 2026 until 1 February 2030.
Welcoming her appointment, Fiona McQueen, Chair of the Scottish Police Authority said:
"I am delighted to be welcoming Amina to the Board. She joins the Authority at an important juncture, where her skills and experience will strengthen the Board's support and oversight of policing in the years ahead."
Amina Khan
Amina Khan has served on the Board of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and is currently a Board Member of NHS 24. She has developed a deep understanding of the inequalities and discrimination faced by marginalised communities and has played a key role in driving cultural change, previously serving as the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Diversity Champion at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and now contributing to the delivery of Anti-Racist actions at NHS 24.
Amina is a consistent and influential advocate for people with protected characteristics, particularly Minority Ethnic communities. She works collaboratively with stakeholders to strengthen understanding of structural racism and to build constructive relationships that improve experiences and outcomes for both the public and staff. As a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh - Quality Governance Collaborative, Amina has a keen understanding of organisational governance.
The appointment attracts remuneration of £324.92 per day for a time commitment of up to six days per month.
