Financial Disclosure
The Public Services Reform (Scotland) Act 2010 requires public bodies, including the SPA and Police Scotland, to publish certain information relating to our expenditure.
We publish disclosures as part of our commitment to openness and transparency.
The specific information required is the annual spend on:
(a) public relations,
(b) overseas travel,
(c) hospitality and entertainment,
(d) external consultancy.
Items (a) and (d) are disclosed as part of the Authority's annual report and accounts. In addition, during the financial year 2021/22, the SPA and Police Scotland incurred a total of £5,446 (2020/21: £23,274) on overseas travel and £44,062 (2020/21: £21,566) on hospitality and entertainment, exclusive of COP26. Hospitality and entertainment including COP26 costs during 2021/22 was £1,997,785.
In addition, the Act also requires a statement of payments made during the financial year. The disclosures below reflect our payments above £25,000 to companies and organisations who provide services to us as part of our work:
