Responding to the publication of DCC Roberts Independent Review of Policing at Football, Susan Deacon, Chair of the Scottish Police Authority said:
"The SPA acknowledges the independent work of Deputy Chief Constable Mark Roberts on the policing of football matches. We welcome the fact that Police Scotland has opened its approach and practices to independent review, which in itself demonstrates a willingness to develop and improve this area of policing.
"DCC Roberts' report also raises a number of wider issues which go beyond policing. In taking this work forward, we will therefore expect Police Scotland to work closely with others, including local authorities, the Scottish Government and football clubs to address any issues. Police Scotland will report to the next meeting of the SPA Board on how they are responding to this report, including their plans for working in partnership with other stakeholders to deliver improvements."
