The SPA will be running an open competition at the beginning of 2018 to seek new members for the Board.

  • Do you have the passion to make a difference for the people of Scotland?
  • Are you a strategic-thinker with a real focus on improvement?
  • Do you have the confidence and skills to take on one of today’s most important public service roles?

The Scottish Police Authority (SPA) will be running an open competition at the beginning of 2018 to seek new members for the Board.

Under a new Chair, this is a time of change and challenge for the Authority at a key point in its evolution as a public body. With a renewed focus on transparency, collaboration, governance, performance and public accountability, this is a chance for some of Scotland’s most able and committed people to step forward and play their part.

We will be particularly looking for people who have a proven track record in driving change, improvement and collaboration within complex stakeholder environments either in Board or Non-Executive / governance roles or through other leadership roles in areas such as youth justice, community safety or addressing social vulnerability.

The appointment will go live in early January. If you wish to pre-register your interest so that an application pack can be sent directly to you as soon as it is available, please email public.appointments@gov.scot with the subject header “SPA members 2018 – Expression of interest”.

These roles require commitment and energy and they offer a unique opportunity to build a safer, stronger, more resilient Scotland and to support an essential public service that touches the whole of society.
