Temporary ACCs offer additional capacity to executive team.

Appointments ensure DCC Designate Iain Livingstone is ably supported to continue to meet operational and organisational requirements.

The Board of the SPA has appointed two new Temporary Assistant Chief Constables (T/ACCs) offering additional capacity to Police Scotland's Command Team.

Chief Superintendents Gillian MacDonald and Alan Speirs have both successfully completed the Strategic Command Course - a prerequisite for officers of ACC rank and above.

T/ACC MacDonald will be responsible for the portfolio of Major Crime, Local Crime and Public Protection.

T/ACC Speirs will be responsible for Professionalism and Assurance, including Professional Standards, Legal Services and other elements of data and corporate assurance.

The Board communicated this decision during the public session of its Board meeting in Stirling on Tuesday 27 November.

The move will ensure DCC Designate Iain Livingstone is ably supported to lead Police Scotland and continue to meet operational and organisational requirements.
