Police Scotland Vacancy - Deputy Chief Constable

Recruitment campaign launched to find exceptional leader to fill DCC vacancy.

The Scottish Police Authority is looking for an outstanding leader to join Police Scotland’s executive team.

Police Scotland is focused on being an ever more efficient, resilient and adaptable organisation. One that is equipped to deal with emerging and future challenges, deliver innovative solutions tailored to the circumstances of the country’s diverse local communities, and inspires confidence and trust.

In June 2017, a clear long-term direction for policing in Scotland was agreed. We are looking for a role model to champion the values outlined in the Policing 2026 strategy and play a fundamental role in driving transformation of the service. You will demonstrate exemplary leadership to our workforce through a period of change and work collaboratively with our partners.

The DCC Crime and Operational Support post has overall responsibility for significant strategic priorities (led by three Assistant Chief Constables) in the following areas – Major Crime and Public Protection; Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism; Operational Support.

Since its creation, Police Scotland has strengthened its capability and resilience and your role will ensure specialist services meet and adapt to ever-changing threats while operating seamlessly with local policing and its partners.

This post will be demanding and high profile. You will support the Chief Constable to deliver better outcomes for the people of Scotland, while ensuring the service is sustainable to meet the complex challenges of the 21st century.
