SPA Oversight of Stop and Search

SPA have published the first quarterly report looking at Police Scotland's use of stop and search in Scotland.

The SPA has today (Friday 22 January) published the first quarterly Assurance Report on Police Scotland's use of stop and search in Scotland. The report has been compiled in response to recommendations from the SPA's own scrutiny review on the use of stop and search which has played a key role in underpinning the subsequent improvements to the policy and practice. The Report also addresses recommendation 5  made in the Report of the Advisory Group on Stop and Search in August 2015.

The report is informed using published Police Scotland management information and can be accessed from the Performance Report pages of our website.

The SPA will continue to formally govern the implementation of improvements to stop and search to ensure all relevant recommendations are progressed and monitored.
